Explore themes of memory and nostalgia to create personal "stitch stories".

This two-day workshop is designed to ignite your creativity to create hand-stitched textile collage pieces that are personal to you.

Sally is an experienced painter and textile artist who enjoys passing on her knowledge to others. Using recycled and repurposed fabrics, along with embroidery stitches, including text, Sally will guide you along this exploration of slow stitching.

The workshop is suitable for everyone from experienced textile artists to beginners.

Materials to bring:

  • Fabrics pieces; such as old linens/doilies, scraps from sewing, old clothing
  • Embroidery cotton (floss)
  • Scissors, embroidery needles, pins, safety pins, sketch book or paper and pencils, water soluble marker pen if you have one
  • Short quotes or poems that are meaningful to you, just one significant word is enough
