In this workshop you will ‘transform’ and contemporise a garment of your choice such as a scarf, cardigan, hat, cushion or tea towel- anything you want. By using embellishment techniques including stitching and placement you will create a cohesive decorated garment.

The aim is to bring an item you have had for years but no longer use back to life creating a contemporary look by using traditional techniques. There will be mixture of using traditional yarns but also use of unexpected materials including beads, wire and costume jewellery. Bring your grandmothers jewellery to use or see what Maggy has available.

This practical hands-on small group workshop is based around Maggy facilitating and challenging you in an environment that is encouraging and stimulating. Maggy will provide technical guidance and share her extensive knowledge of working with a range of textile media, fostering experimentation and exciting growth in your personal art-making journey.

Maggy is an experienced tutor - she has a vast knowledge of many art and craft techniques, and has attended numerous residencies and exhibited her work nationally and internationally, including receiving several WOW awards.
