Low impact dyeing gives the opportunity to create unexpected colours and imprinted designs using sustainable practices.

During this hands-on workshop, you will use local plants and found materials to create subtle colours on cellulose (cotton and linen) and protein (wool and silk) fibres, fabrics and paper. The techniques you learn are suitable to be applied to clothing accessories, furnishings, or for incorporating into textile collage, patchwork, quilting and felt-making. The eco-dyed yarns yield beautiful, soft and harmonious colours which can be using for knitting, crocheting and embellishments.

Discover the magic of leaf prints using the 'bundle' technique on natural fabrics.

Colleen has had many years experimenting with natural dyeing, creating artworks that have been exhibited nationally and internationally. Colleen will be sharing many tips and a variety of techniques that you can use in your own practice, including eco-dyed paper which is fantastic for incorporating into creative bookbinding.

Dates Available:

A $20 small materials fee is payable to the tutor at the commencement of the workshop.
