Recent Workshop - Golden Bay
We recently expanded our workshop offering to include artisan workshops.
Judith Ritchie held a new artisan workshop in her Motupipi studio in November. We hear very nice batches of marmalade and blueberry jam were made!
Jams in a Jiffy teaches attendees all the tips and tricks to make jam at home. By the end of the workshop you’ll have your own batch of low sugar fruit jam and one batch of fruit jam with the normal amount of sugar. Perfect for berry season. Judith has three jam workshops in the New Year - click here for more information.
Judith also has four preserving workshops coming up called Preserving Garden Produce Made Easy. Click here for more information – great for your home grown produce.
New Workshops with Sally Reynolds
Sally Reynolds is a tutor of textile collage, textile artist, painter and exhibitor based in Tasman.
Sally has two new workshops commencing in the New Year. Both workshops are 1-day workshops and perfect for friends and family who are visiting the Nelson region. Sally is holding her workshops at Broadgreen House which is such a lovely venue set amongst gardens with roses.
Stitch Stories is a collage, textile-based workshop and Mono-Printing on Fabric uses gelli printing. See photos to get an idea of the wonderful designs you will create. For more information or to book click here.
Videos of Workshops & Tutors
We have been lucky to work with the talented Tracy Allan from Tracy Allan Creative and owner of Art Nelson Tasman; a website we highly recommend to artists to showcase their work on.
Tracy put together these three videos of Colleen Plank (Eco Dyeing and Contemporary Feltmaking), Rosie-Anne Pinney (Creative Bookbinding) and Maggy Johnston (Transformational Textiles). These are a slice of life on what you can learn at one of their popular workshops.
If you need videography we recommend working with Tracy and she can been contacted at either of her website links above.
Over 50 Workshops in the New Year
We have over 50 small group workshops running in the New Year across the Nelson, Tasman, Golden Bay and Inangahua region. To see more information or to book a workshop, visit our Workshop Calendar.
We wish you a very special Christmas to you and your loved ones. We know not everyone gets a holiday at this time of year but we do hope whatever you are up to you take some time to sit and reflect and think about one creative thing to do in 2025 and then go forth and do it!
NZ Textile Experiences would like to say a very big thank-you to everyone who have been a part of our workshops this year - you are wonderful
